Stop for a moment and think about your earliest experiences with horses. What drew you to them? What made you desire to want to work with them and own them? Was it their beauty and grace? Their power and strength? Did you read books like the Black Stallion and Lord of the Rings and long to have that kind of a relationship with them? Did words like connection, love, and freedom come to mind?

I’d be willing to bet you weren’t thinking about domination, force, and control but unfortunately those notions have become common place in today’s horse world. People have lost that magical connection with horses and have turned to force and domination in an effort to control them. Methods abound that use the horse’s fear response to evoke certain behaviors. Other methods use gadgets to force a horse into a certain position.

But if we were honest with ourselves, if we truly care about our horses, this isn’t really what we want for them. We want a horse that performs for us willingly, comes running up to us when called, and enjoys being with us. We don’t want to control him, we want to have a partnership with him.

Well I’m going to let you in on a secret- there is nothing magical about this kind of connection. You don’t need to be a famous horse trainer or mystical horse whisperer. This kind of relationship is achievable for anyone!

Working with your horse at liberty will take you on a journey towards a relationship with your horse that transcends anything you thought possible. Whether you have a nervous, spooky horse that needs to learn to trust you or a pushy, dominant horse that needs to learn respect and boundaries or anything in between, liberty work is for you.

When you speak to the horse in a language that he understands he will willingly do anything you ask of him. Behavioral problems such as spooking, kicking, biting, bucking, and rearing will disappear because you will have learn how to effectively communicate with your horse.

When your horse is at liberty he has the choice to leave if he wants, but you’ll soon discover that by building trust and respect you will have a horse that truly desires to be with you, to come to you, to circle around you, to dance with you where both you and your horse are able to freely express yourselves. You too can have a relationship reminiscent of the movie Avatar, in which you need only think what you want, and your horse will respond with gladness.

After all, isn’t that what you’ve always wanted?

In this course you will learn how to develop a partnership with your horse at liberty using the horse’s natural desire to find friendship, guidance, and safety and you’ll develop a partnership with your horse based on mutual trust and understanding
